'Supergirl' Season 2 News & Update: Melissa Benoist on Why Kara Keeps Trusting Lena Luthor

Tonight's episode of "Supergirl" season 2 is gearing up to be one that should not be missed. The episode titled "Luthors" will find Lillian Luthor escaping from prison and Lena Luthor being the mastermind behind it all. However. It seems that Kara still completely trusts Lena, despite overwhelming evidence that says she was behind it all. Recently, Melissa Benoist spoke about why Kara keeps trusting Lena Luthor.

According to Entertainment Weekly, "Supergirl" season 2 star Melissa Benoist shared that Kara keeps trusting Lena Luthor because Supergirl keeps giving Lena th benefit of the doubt. This leads viewers to think about what Lena's true motives are. She is still a Luthor and blood runs thicker than water. So should she be trusted?

Benoist said that in "Supergirl" season 2, Lena keeps defying what her family name stands for and admits that "she wants to make the world a better place." But how committed is Lena in fighting for the good? Will there be a twist down the road that will lead her to switch sides? According to Comic Book, Kara is a firm believer in Lena's goodness, so viewers will definitely see their relationship unfold further in tonight's episode.

In the meantime, "Supergirl" season 2 will feature more additions to the series, as both Kevin Sorbo and Teri Hatcher are set to arrive sometime later in the season. No exact details yet have been confirmed about their appearance, except that Sorbo will play Hatcher's character's husband. In addition, Hatcher's character will be a villain. Now that we know why Kara keeps trusting Lena Luthor, what's next for National City?
