'Grand Theft Auto 6' News & Update: Rockstar Games Hints Female Protagonist For 'GTA 6' Not Far From Happening

Just like the previous months, Rockstar Games are still not giving any updates regarding the much-awaited "Grand Theft Auto 6." However, the video game developer did react to the demands of the fans to have a female protagonist in the next installment. Will "GTA 6" have a female lead?

Rockstar Games' Dan Houser has previously revealed to The Guardian that they are very open to have a female lead. Unfortunately, they are still unsure as to what specific game to put the female protagonist in. With that said, many are hoping that they will finally stabilize the idea and apply it to "Grand Theft Auto 6."

"Could we do a game with a lead female character? Of course. We just haven't found the right game for it yet," Rockstar Games' Dan Houser told the site at the time. Many were unhappy with the role that Rockstar Games made for women in "Grand Theft Auto 5," so they are definitely hoping that it will be a lot different in "GTA 6."

Meanwhile, it was previously reported that "Grand Theft Auto 6" will be upgraded with Virtual Reality. While this feature is such an amazing addition to "GTA 6," it could very well be the reason for the highly-anticipated game's delay. The VR capability is allegedly putting the "Grand Theft Auto 6" development to a screeching halt as Rockstar Games may be needing a much bigger budget for this to be possible.

Rockstar Games put all their time and effort to make "Grand Theft Auto 5" the best action-adventure video game series ever made and they have definitely accomplished that. "GTA 5" became an instant hit and its success is probably worrying Rockstar Games for the fate of "Grand Theft Auto 6" when it will finally be launched. There is still no word on the "Grand Theft Auto 6" release date.
