'Yuri On Ice' Season 2 News & Update: Mitsurou Kubo Hints Story Of Yuri Katsuki, Victor Nikiforov Is Far From Over

"Yuri On Ice" deals with real-life situations which makes it relatable to a lot of people. The series explored something that most anime wouldn't dwell very deep into or even scratch the surface of - sexuality. Viewers have become interested about Yuri Katsuki and Victor Nikiforov's relationship but before they learn more about their status, the season ended. Now, the show's creator Mitsurou Kubo revealed that things are definitely far from over and "Yuri On Ice" season 2 may be happening soon.

Even though the first season just concluded and fans are still picking up their jaws after learning Yuri Katsuki's place in the competition, "Yuri On Ice" Season 2 is believed to be already a done deal. Mitsurou Kubo, hinted the possibility of a "Yuri on Ice" season 2 in an English interview.

 The Japanese sports anime television series' writer said that she'll be focusing her time and efforts for the remainder of the year on "Yuri On Ice." "I have a lot of plans in the works with the director for next year," the "Yuri On Ice" writer said, adding that she's "working hard" to fullfill her dream of making the "Yuri On Ice" season 2.

As most fans have already predicted, Yuri Katsuki did not take the top spot in "Yuri On Ice" Season 1 finale. Since the show's protagonist had only bagged the silver medal in episode 12, fans believe that his purpose is not over yet and may finally take gold and win Victor Nikiforov's heart in "Yuri On Ice" Season 2!

Many may have expected "Yuri On Ice" to be just one of those Japanese anime television series. Something sporty, feel-good worthy, nothing spectacular. However, the show has proven them all wrong. "Yuri On Ice" was extraordinary and became such a huge hit that everybody is now waiting for the highly-wanted "Yuri On Ice" season 2.
