The anticipation of its nearing release date came after rumors of a brand new trailer started circulating during the Super Bowl, iDigitalTimes added. Many fans believe Rockstar planned a Super Bowl advertisement spot to announce the release date.

A "Red Dead Redemption 2" pre-order card was posted over the weekend on Reddit, making fans dumbfounded with the February 5 date. As of now, Rockstar has set the release date Autumn of 2017, with no specific date yet. Previously, it was speculated that Rockstar may release the game to October due to some retailer leaks. While there are conflicting claims from various retailers regarding its release date, most of them narrowed it down to October - one on October 2 and the other towards the end of the month.

It should be noted that October and November are the typical months for game releases so it shouldn't be a surprise to learn "Red Dead Redemption 2" will hit October. More so, Rockstar's first teaser image showing seven outlaws in front of the setting sun suggest that the prequel will have a "Magnificent Seven" theme.
