"Red Dead Redemption 2" made noise October last year after Rockstar Games official announced that it's currently in development. Although the teaser art didn't reveal the exact date of its release, an excited retailer may have just revealed it prematurely.

Rockstar Studios granted the wish of many fans as they announced the development of "Red Dead Redemption 2" in October last year. While the game is set for release in the fall of 2017, the exact date is still unknown. However, fans are now saying that the game may be released on October 2, after an online retailer based in the United Kingdom listed the game with that date. Since then, Littlewoods -- the retailer -- removed the date and replaced it with December 29, 2017, MS Power User reported.

December 29, is likely to be a placeholder, as noted by the report. However, it also likely that the first date was also a placeholder as well. Many questions are now plaguing fans on what could be the exact date for "Red Dead Redemption 2" release. There's still a high possibility that Littlewoods actually posted a legitimate release date ahead of Rockstar's official announcement, but until the developer makes a statement, the "Red Dead Redemption 2" release date is still up in the air.

Rockstar Games will surely beat out the competition as new installments of "Destiny," "Star Wars Battlefront," and "Call of Duty" are also set to for release before the year ends. Getting ahead of the competition and releasing "Red Dead Redemption 2" around October will give them a chance to monopolize the industry. However, it's best to wait for Rockstar's formal announcement and take these speculations with skepticism.

Meanwhile, many fans are concerned that "Red Dead Redemption 2" may not draw as much as "Grand Theft Auto" did with its titles, RDR2 pointed out. The sudden success of the next title may affect the steady success of "GTA." So the report is suggesting that cross-promotions may benefit Rockstar Games. This will give players incentives if they play the games side by side. Other publishers as EA has adopted the same strategy to increase sales of two games.
