Detective Inspector Alec Hardy (David Tennant) and Detective Sergeant Ellie Miller (Olivia Colman) will finally return in "Broadchurch" Season 3. To tease fans more, ITV TV Network recently unveiled the first official trailer of the crime drama's swansong.

By the looks of it, the two detectives will have a new case to solve in "Broadchurch" Season 3 that will involve a brutal sexual assault. According to Radio Times, the abuse happened at a party and the person behind the attack is still on the loose. Fans are now wondering if the television series will once again shine after the poor performance of its second season.

But with "Broadchurch" Season 3 promising first trailer, it will definitely rise up once again and hit the heights of its first installment. In fact, the upcoming installment anchored high-profile stars like Lenny Henry, Julie Hesmondhalgh, Sarah Parish, Georgina Campbell and much more. Also, the video teaser showed the return of Jodie Whittaker, Andrew Buchan and Arthur Darvill among others.

Arthur Darvill himself told Digital Spy that "Broadchurch" Season 3 will be similar to its critically acclaimed first season. He even teased that it will be brilliant and although he is not bound to say anything about it, he revealed that the case that they are dealing today is really heavy. The 34-year-old actor also addressed the poor ratings of its second chapter saying that part of the story really needs to be told.

Meanwhile, it was recently reported that the "Corrie" star Julie Hesmondhalgh will play the role of Trish, the traumatized sexual assault victim in "Brodchurch" Season 3. "The Fast Show" actor Charlie Higson will portray as her husband while Lenny Henry will take the character as her boss at the farm shop named Ed Burnett. "Broadchurch" Season 3 is expected to return to the small screens in February.
