'Stranger Things' Season 2 Latest News & Update: Duffer Brothers Can't Fail If M. Night Shyamalan Joins Netflix Series
Things could get downright mysterious and spooky in "Stranger Things" Season 2. "Split" director M. Night Shyamalan has just admitted that he wants to work with co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer on a special episode for the Netflix series. Will the former "Wayward Pines" writers consider the idea of the "Sixth Sense" filmmaker adding his magic touch to the show?
M. Night Shyamalan has previously worked with the Duffer Brothers when they penned some episodes for the filmmaker's TV series "Wayward Pines". The writers would then go on to create their own show which turned out to be a major Netflix hit. But are the Duffers interested in bringing in the "Split" director to work on a special episode for "Stranger Things" Season 2?
The "Split" director recently spoke to Digital Spy to discuss the James McAvoy film but also gushed about the Duffer Brothers' creation. M. Night Shyamalan admitted that Matt and Ross had visited him and that he has expressed interest in working with them on "Stranger Things" Season 2. The filmmaker is undoubtedly proud of what the Duffers achieved, calling them "my boys" and is probably hoping to give one of the new "Stranger Things" episodes his trademark plot twist at the end.
The Duffer Brothers have yet to comment on M. Night Shyamalan's interest in working on "Stranger Things" Season 2, but it might be an idea the co-creators should consider. After all, the new season is expected to be "bigger and darker" (via Yahoo) so the "Split" director could be the right choice for a special episode involving Eleven's return.
It may only be a matter of time before The Duffer Brothers confirm M. Night Shyamalan as one of the directors of their show's new episodes. Netflix has not yet announced the "Stranger Things" Season 2 air date, but the series is expected to return sometime in late summer.
