Although Tom Cruise may have been missing in action from his daughter's life for quite a long time, he could be ready to turn his back on his controversial church for Suri Cruise. The 54-year-old "Mission Impossible" actor was nowhere to be found during Scientology's big event and many took it as a sign that Tom Cruise may finally be choosing his daughter over his cult-like religion.

When Scientology opened a new location in San Diego, Tom Cruise was nowhere to be found. Being the face of Scientology for years, many expected to see Katie Holmes' ex in the big event. But since he was MIA in the important gathering, many speculated that Tom Cruise may be slowly removing himself from the controversial church. The actor and his camp has yet to comment on this matter.

An insider told Radar Online that the Scientology's leader David Miscavige was present at the mega event and was welcomed by the church' devotees. Tom Cruise, on the other hand, was not nowhere in sight. Although it was never talked about in public, it is believed that Tom Cruise' loyalty and devotion to Scientology cost him his marriage with Katie Holmes.

Now, Suri Cruise is left without a father but Katie Holmes took that role as well for her daughter. The mother-daughter duo have been inseparable after Katie Holmes decided to end her marriage with the "Mission Impossible" actor Tom Cruise in 2012.

Previous reports suggest that Katie Holmes has been looking for a father figure for Suri Cruise and her rumored boyfriend Jamie Foxx may be ready to adopt the 10-year-old. However, this idea was quickly debunked before it went out of control. Do you think Tom Cruise will finally give up Scientology for Suri Cruise? Let us know in the comments section below!
