Even if the continuation of "Empire" Season 3 is not yet released, Fox recently announced the renewal of "Empire" Season 4. The good news was announced at the 2017 Winter TCA Press Tour on Wednesday as the show's fall finale hit a whopping 7.57 million views.

It is not a surprise that fox renewed "Empire" Season 4 for being the number one broadcast drama on television. In fact, it holds a title for its last three seasons for the adults 18 to 49 demo, E! News has learned. In the current "Empire" Season 3, it has a number of A-lister stars, like Taye Diggs as Cookie's (Taraji P. Henson) new man and Mariah Carey as Daniels friend. Rumer Willis and Nia Long, too, are set to appear.

Meanwhile, after the announcement of the "Empire" Season 4 renewal, the show's co-creator Lee Daniels revealed that they are now eyeing to give the show a spin-off. The 57-year-old film producer announced at the same event on Wednesday that the second show is definitely coming. In fact, he revealed that they are now in discussion and figuring things out how to start it.

Daniels further explained that they first have to build the foundation of "Empire," so they could figure out what the "B-chorus" is. Hence, it is more likely to happen. However, he tried to be silent about it and didn't give any more details if the spin-off will be for "Empire" Season 3 or a planted episode. It is also not clear if it would be a prequel about Cookie's story as there has been talks about since August of 2015.

Daniels teased to The Hollywood Reporter that it could be about Cookie but nothing is final yet. "We really are in deep talks about it, and we're having all these ideas thrown around to figure it out," he said. However, he added that he can assert that "Empire" Spin-off is coming along with the news of "Empire" Season 4.
