"Kingdom Hearts" is definitely one of the most successful franchises ever made. So when Square Enix announced the existence of "Kingdom Hearts 3," it was already expected to become highly popular even before the development starts. Unfortunately, "KH 3" has yet to reach the Top 5 despite the popularity of the "Kingdom Hearts" franchise.

Fans have been getting more and more impatient with the official release of "Kingdom Hearts 3." It appears that even though "Kingdom Hearts 3" is a much-awaited game, the delay may have been too much for the fans that they lost interest in "Kingdom Hearts 3." Now, a new report revealed that the lack of "KH 3" updates may have caused the hype for the Square Enix game to drop as it struggled to reach the Top 5.

The delay was believed to make way for the "Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue" and to add even more hype to "Kingdom Hearts 3," but it seems like the plan of Square Enix has backfired this time. In a the latest Famistu Charts, "Kingdom Hearts 3" is ranked in 9th place, per GamingBolt. Unfortunately, even with the initial hype of the existence of "KH 3," the game has not reached the top 5 yet.

The performance of "Kingdom Hearts 3" has actually improved a few months back. During the previous result (via Nintendo Everything) of the Famitsu chart back in September, "Kingdom Hearts 3" got the seventh spot, which means the hype now is lesser than the last time.

With so many A-list games set to release this year and in the near future, it is not a shocker that "Kingdom Hearts 3" is having problems to maintain its hype especially with its lack of update. With the release date still unkown to the public, gamers have chosen to move on and focus on other games. According to the the "Kingdom Hearts 3" E3 2015 trailer, the third installment is "now in development." However, there is no word on the official release date yet.
