The CW has just announced the renewal of several shows including "The Flash" Season 4, "Supergirl" Season 3, "Arrow" Season 6 and "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 3. Not surprisingly, the network has also ordered "Supernatural" Season 13, which means Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki will be back as Sam and Dean Winchester later this year.

It's no secret that "Supernatural" was only intended to last a few seasons, but the show continues to amaze people with its unexpected longevity. Jensen Ackles has just reacted to the announcement of "Supernatural" Season 13, hinting that it has always been the fans who kept Sam and Dean Winchester alive.

Jensen Ackles may have already been expecting the renewal of the CW series, but that didn't stop the "Supernatural" Season 13 actor from thanking everyone who continues to support the show. Ackles posted a heartfelt tweet that honored the fans and even added the hashtag #SPNFamily. Fans immediately responded to the post, which currently has over 77,000 likes and 31,000 retweets.

"Supernatural" has certainly outlasted A LOT of brilliant shows on The CW including "The Vampire Diaries", which is currently on its eighth and last season. The series has gone through several showrunners including creator Eric Kripke who departed in the fifth season. Nevertheless, Kripke suggested that there will be more seasons after "Supernatural" Season 13 as long as Jensen Ackles and Jared Padelecki still want to keep working on the show.

The "Supernatural" Season 13 air date has not been announced just yet but is expected to premiere by fall this year. In the meantime, fans can still expect to see more of Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles as Sam and Dean Winchester in "Supernatural" Season 12 Episode 9. "First Blood" airs on The CW on January 26.
