It was a great year for Naughty Dog, as "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" reportedly sells over 8.7 million copies last 2016. With the success of the action-adventure video game from Naughty Dog comes news that the studio's game designer Matthew Gallant will grace the GDC stage this year to talk about combat AI in "Uncharted 4."

The news comes via PlayStation Lifestyle, which reports that Gallant will be on hand during the "Authored vs. Systemic: Finding a Balance for Combat AI in 'Uncharted 4'" discussion. The event is set to take place at the Moscene Center in San Francisco, California this February 27 to March 3. According to the press release, the studio decided to go with a systems-driven approach to AI when it came to "Uncharted 4," thanks to its "open-ended gameplay and large complex environments."

Now that Naughty Dog is set to give combat AI talk at GDC 2017, interested participants and "Uncharted 4" fans should expect to learn more about the aspects of combat AI. They will also learn which parts of combat AI are best paired with systems-driven logic. The press release states that the talk is also intended for systems designers, level designers, AI engineers, and producers whose work are closely related to video game combat.

Meanwhile, it seems that Naughty Dog hit the jackpot with the widely successful "Uncharted 4." Forbes reports that the game has now sold over 8.7 million copies of the game. This is a leap from "Uncharted"'s 5 million, with the two sequels selling 6.6 and 6.7, respectively. The report also indicates that the increase in sales may be in part of the PlayStation 4 bundles.
