The Los Angeles Lakers are a forward short following the injury to Larry Nance Jr. To fill up the void, Donatas Motiejunas to fill up the slack. The Los Angeles Lakers did work out the 7-foot Lithuanian recently though there is no official word on whether he would be signed. Donatas Motiejunas was recently in the headlines after signing a four-year offer sheet with the Brooklyn Nets.

The Houston Rockets eventually matched that offer until things went sour. Motiejunas skipped a physical which forced the Rockets to renounce him. Being a top free agent, the Los Angeles Lakers could be his next stop if all goes well, ESPN reported. Larry Nance Jr. will be out for a couple of weeks following a bone bruise injury on his left knee.

With the sophomore out, the Los Angeles Lakers have a gaping hole up front with Julius Randle and Tarik Black forced to play extended minutes. Motiejunas could be a key addition to the Los Angeles Lakers. Aside from being a 7-footer, he can play both power forward and center, Lakers Nation reported. Best of all, the Lithuanian is a scorer who could bump up the offensive line of coach Luke Walton.

Nance may be out for four weeks though the sophomore believes he can return sooner. With no certainty and the possibility of seeing him stay out longer, Motiejunas could be a logical addition for the Los Angeles Lakers moving forward.

Also, it would be wise to note that the possible addition of Motiejunas is not a short-term solution. He could eventually be inserted into the rotation if he proves to be an asset for the Los Angeles Lakers. The Los Angeles Lakers are expected to make a decision soon on Motiejunas. Worth taking note is how his physical would come out, something he skipped with the Houston Rockets.
