Cardcaptor Sakura will be having a brand new anime in 2018. Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Arc will still be handled by its former studio, CLAMP.

For fans of Cardcaptor Sakura, the series announced that they will be having a brand new anime soon. The official Cardcaptor Sakura Twitter account announced that the Clear Card Arc is currently in production. With the new anime inbound comes the return of the original cast of the series. Nanase Ohkawa, responsible for the script of the original Cardcaptor Sakura anime as well as its movies, returns to oversee and write the scripts for Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Arc. Since she is responsible for the original content of Cardcaptor Sakura, it makes sense that she will return to help create its sequel.

Aside from Ohkawa, the voice actors from the original anime make their return too. Sakura Tange, the original voice for Sakura Kinomoto returns to voice her again as a junior high school student. Also returning will be Aya Hisakawa as the guardian of the Clow Cards, Keroberos, Iwao Junko as Tomoyo Daidouji, Motoko Kumai as Syaoran Li, Megumi Ogata as Yukito, and Tomokazu Seki as Touya Kinomoto. This is a good call from the production team since Cardcaptor Sakura already established a good team for the core characters. There might be a chance that some voice actors won't be coming back but no news is yet revealed by that. Fans can expect brand new characters to join as the story tackles what happens after Sakura graduates in Elementary.

Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Arc is the brand new installment in the Cardcaptor Sakura franchise. The story is set after the events of the manga. Clear Card Arc takes place on the events where Sakura is entering junior high. She encounters a mysterious dream that may start a series of chain incidents.

It is without a doubt, one of the most anticipated anime ever since it was announced. Cardcaptor Sakura has a place in the hearts of those who grew up watching the series. To be able to see Sakura and her friends once again on television is a treat for their fans, especially when 2016 is the year where Cardcaptor Sakura celebrates their 20th anniversary.
