After the producers fired Thomas Gibson from “Criminal Minds” the rating on the show went down by 9% on average. But, despite the low rating, the show managed to stay among best 30 shows, for now. Thomas Gibson leaving the show had a huge impact on the show because he was the star of the show and a hero everybody needs. A group of people even started a boycott in order to get him back, but it looks like they won’t see their favorite character back in the show.

The show “Criminal Minds” is returning in 2017 and will focus on BAU’s profiler David Rossi (Joe Mantegna). He will be teaching a class on profiling on his birthday when he will receive a call from his archenemy, Tommy Yates (Adam Nelson), the sinister serial killer. Tommy will inform him about his new victim and BAU will work on finding a way to save the present victims and potential targets. Also, with the show returning to the small screens, fans will get to see more of Stephen Walker’s profiling skills. Fans said their goodbye and some of them welcomed the new member of the team who will replace Thomas Gibson as Agent Hotchner.

The Behaviour Analysis Unit – BAU has been playing cat and mouse with this serial killer for quite a long time but they can’t risk the people’s life and they continue to play by his rules. But, the clock is ticking for Tommy. The upcoming chase for his latest victim will bring more suspense and intrigue than the other ones, according to International Business Times. The producers of “Criminal Minds” wrote off Thomas Gibson in a way they can bring him back later if they need him, but it looks like they just need an actor to play Agent Hotch’s role. In the winter finale, they introduced a new actor who will dive into Hotch’s character and try to sweeten fans’ pain.

After Thomas Gibson left the show, the rating dropped drastically Travelers Today reported. When one of the producers fired Thomas due to some disagreement, a lot of fans took the news badly and decided to quit the show. Some of them tried to bring him back by boycott, some cut the show immediately while others decided to give it another chance. Despite the low rating, the show is still on the list among 30 best series, but will it manage to stay there is left to wait and see.

“Criminal Minds” will return with season 12 episode 9 on January 4, 2017, on CBS. Share your thoughts in the comments section!
