A big and shocking news just hit the internet today. The popular PC gaming platform Steam experienced technical difficulties both in client logins and website. Users are currently restrained from logging into the clients and a message stating "An error occurred while processing your request" appears on the website.

According to Twinfinite website, the issue started early morning. It is stated that almost 91% of Steam's connection manager servers suffered downtime. It is speculated that the increasing access to Steam's website causes such issue due to the fact that a lot of consumers are aiming to get the latest offers for Steam's Winter Sale. As of the moment, Steam has not yet confirmed the main reason behind the platform's downtime.

Steam Winter sale offers a huge amount of discounts for popular titles such as "Watch Dogs 2," "Doom," "Farming Simulator 17," and much more. The promotional offer extends until January 4th of 2017. Gamers can now purchase "Watch Dogs 2" for 20$, while "Doom's" version which allows players to execute chainsaw kills can be purchased for less than 20$. iSportstimes listed other promotional offers for Steam Winter Sale such as Virtual Reality Games, Softwares, and Hardware.

It is also speculated that another reason behind Steam's downtime is the Steam Awards Voting. Gamers can no vote one category per day. Voting will run until December 30th and the announcement of winners will commence December 31st. Fans can now vote for categories such as "Villain Most In Need Of A Hug," "I Thought This Game Was Cool Before It Won An Award," and much more.
