The mid-season premiere of "Supernatural" season 12 will bring in more of Mary Winchester. Although she had been a sleeping character since episode 3, the series showrunner and Robert Singer himself assured that she will be more involved in a big way. Furthermore, Angel Gabriel may have more roles in the upcoming episodes this coming 2017.

The Winchester Mother

Although fans had expected "Supernatural" season 12 to come back on screen this year for its last episode, reports pointed out that season 12 episode nine entitled "First Blood" would have to wait until the end of January 2017.

Despite the delay, a recent improvement got the fans excited after Amara gave the Winchester brothers a gift - the resurrection of their mother Mary Winchester in "Supernatural" season 12. However, recent episodes had not featured her as more as the fans would have wanted, reported Inquisitr.

To remedy the character improvement of the recently revived Mary, showrunner of the series, Andrew Dabb, revealed to Entertainment Weekly that her character would have more screen time come 2017. In fact, he said that she will come back strongly in "Supernatural" season 12 and will be more aware of her sons' endeavors. She may also work with Castiel to get Sam and Dean free from Secret Service captivity.

Angel Gabriel Behind The Cam?

On other news, Screener TV reported that Angel Gabriel, who was deemed alive and well in "Supernatural" season 9, would be more involved in the coming episodes for "Supernatural" season 12. Last season, Angel Gabriel actor, Richard Speight, Jr., stepped away from his role and spent more time with the cast and crew as a director for one episode.

In the upcoming "Supernatural" season 12 episodes, Angel Gabriel would show more involvement behind the cameras as Mary Winchester will have more on-screen moments.
