In Spring 2017, The Americas and Europe will be enjoying the demon-hunting and slaying RPG game, "Toukiden." "Toukiden 2" is an action role-playing game developed by Omega Force and published by Koei Tecmo. It has been released earlier in July for PS3, PS4 and Vita and was announced in 2015 at the SCEJA Press Conference.

According to Fandom, "Toukiden 2: Kiwami" is a story about humanity fighting a losing battle against the soul-devouring demon, Oni. Two years after Kiwami, demons rampage the entire Nakatsu Kuni with strange miasma, and slayers are expected to combat them. In the Awakening, these slayers wandered into a dimensional portal and appeared as an amnesic at Mahoroba village, the game's new primary hub.

In this new instalment, chests, where slayer's spare inventory and setups can be accessed from, are scattered across the world map. Tenko can be raised in multiple and protagonists can give name to it. The game also features new "demo hands" which are R1 and R2 simultaneously for traversing and combating demons. These secondary features are for destroying obstacles and minor demons. However, when against giants of the same kind, it can stun them, lock onto a specific body part or completely abolish a body part. In the Vita platform, the new keys are controlled via touchscreen. R3 and L3 are the slayers' new faster running ability while the automatons are deployed to gather items across the map.

Although the automatons can receive damage when they return, they can still be repaired by augmentation. When entering unsafe areas, a miasma gauge appears. Regions may range from safe to dangerous where, the safer the area, the more items and weapons are unlocked. In "Toukiden 2," open world exploration and combat are featured. The open world is in six different ages: Yore, Grace, Honor, War, Peace and Chaos which represent diverse phases of Japan's history, US Gamer reported.

Kenichi Ogasawara is the game's general producer with Takashi Morinaka as the producer and Kazutoshi Sekiguchi as the director, while Hidari remains to be the main character designer.

As per announcement of the release, a short anime was featured.
