When reports disclosing that the 46-year-old singer would already tie the knot with the 49-year-old Australian billionaire came out, a number of people, especially those close to her, were reportedly excited. However, this excitement was replaced with shock when it was known that they had already called their engagement off.

In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, the "Butterfly" singer hinted about having moved on already from their "bitter" breakup. Did she see it coming? "Now it's a whole friggin' thing ... I think I'm doing well," Mariah Carey said about her breakup from James Packer. "Everything happens for a reason. Things are the way they are."

When asked if her ex-fiancé refused to be part of her new reality series, "Mariah's World," the "One Sweet Day" singer was quick to evade the question, Page Six reported. Mariah Carey dished that "allegedly," James Packer asked to be "left out" when it comes to her new show. The singer further admitted that it is difficult to talk about it right now, suggesting that the right time has not come yet.

"So I'm just going to compliment you on these decorations once again because they are fabulous, and I am here, among them," he said. In the meantime, Mariah Carey shared with Mario Lopez of Extra how she is after her engagement with the James Packer ended. She pointed out that she is "definitely not distraught" even after their romance failed.

Apart from her controversial split from the Aussie investor, the mother-of-two also talked made  a comment about her ex-husband Nick Cannon's baby with Brittany Bell. Mariah Carey noted that she will always be supportive of him, but if James Packer can expect the same support from her, that remains a question.
