NBA Trade Rumors: Is DeMarcus Cousins Finally Landing With Los Angeles Lakers?
DeMarcus Cousins, the 26-year-old Olympic gold medalist, has featured regularly in NBA rumors of late. The Sacramento Kings star has been associated with half of the sides playing in the contest, making him a favorite among the rumor lovers.
But where will the one-inch-less-than-7-foot Cousins will ultimately end up? Latest rumors have suggested that it could be the Los Angeles Lakers - the team which was supposed to be rebuilding it this year but has come out with flying colors in the tournament so much so that Luke Walton's boys are now being seen as possible contenders for the playoffs with a 7-7 record at the moment.
"With that being the case, NBA trade rumors are swirling that Los Angeles could become a player in the DeMarcus Cousins Sweepstakes," said the Inquisitr's Adrian Lawhorn.
According to rumors, the Lakers would send Brandon Ingram and Jordan Clarkson to the Kings for All-Star Cousins, he said. But though sending 19-year-old Ingram who has just started his career is okay, can Clarkson who signed a new contract with the Lakers this season be also traded now?
Lawhorn said he can be traded since the potential deal is likely to be made after December 15 when Clarkson can be included. However, Cousins's presence could make it very expensive for the Lakers who already have Timofey Mozgov, who was signed this very year for $64 million, in their ranks.
The Lakers have a 1-0 lead over the Kings this regular season, thanks to their 101-91 win in the away game of November 10.
