The PlayStation 4 Pro has been built in such a way that players can take advantage 4K resolution and high dynamic range (HDR) color in their game play. However, the console's new firmware update has apparently caused the glitch on certain TV brands after the PS4 Pro firmware 4.05 update.

Reddit users report on the glitch

Reddit User Bravo514 posted that he was facing glitches in the video output of his PlayStation 4 Pro after the PS4 Pro firmware to 4.05 update.  The video output that was working fine earlier faced loss of TV signal after the update. Various new users have also been reporting to be facing the dame problem. Investigations later revealed that the glitch caused when the console is connected to the 4K television was caused by the PS4 Pro firmware 4.05 update.

Older TVs have mostly reported the issue

It also reported that the problem is mostly hitting on the older units of TV Brands Hisense and LG and on Vizio. Various Ressit users not only reported the issue but also have listed a number of temporary fixes which may or may not work on all the affected TV sets.

Suggested Temporary fixes

The temporary fixes that were suggested are as follows;

  • Turn off the console plug the HDMI cable in the 4K television's 60Hz port
  • Switch the TV on and hold the power button of the console and wait two beeps.
  • This will put the PS4 Pro in safe mode. Put HDCP only in 1.4 setting and restart the Pro console.

The fix has been reported to work fine on some of the TV sets. However, if nothing changes, users can restart PS4 Pro in safe mode and then change resolution.

  • If PS4 Pro restarts with an image, select yuv420 option and the problem may be resolved.
  • If there is still no signal, return the PS4 Pro to Safe mode. Go to the HDCP menu and select automatic. Return to safe mode one more time and go to the change resolution menu to select yuv420.

However is was said that the process may have to be repeated a number of times in order to take effect.

Users expect a patch to fix the Console's issue

Investigations conclude that the affected TV brands will require a firmware update to work well with Sony's latest PlayStation 4 Pro. But, the PlayStation 4 Pro's maker's latest firmware has actually caused the glitch and hence players are expecting another patch to be issued to correct it.
