Looks like Grand Theft Auto 6 release date will be delayed even further due to the game's massive development cost. Thus, the GTA 6 release might end up in 2020 or even beyond.

Grand Theft Auto 6 reportedly takes about half a billion dollars to develop. That's comparatively big considering GTA 5 only costs half of its sequel. GTA Online is also expected to be more expensive because of the many features added into it. Rumor has it that GTA 6 will also have VR support. Thus, the massive cost, as published by FRAGHERO.

GTA 5 Online has been Rockstar Game's unparalleled success from the time of its release until now. Bikers clubs has recently been added and other features such as new vehicles, game modes, weapons, and other items can be expected to be included regularly by its developer. Right now, GTA Online is hosting "City Air" Premium Race, as mentioned by the Rockstar Games website.

This is a strong indication that the developer is pursuing in investing time and money with GTA Online. It is a good investment since the online game has proven to be an enormous money making machine. Thus, Rockstar is taking its time and is in no hurry replacing GTA 5. At present, the developer no longer gives out updates to the single player modes.

So when can gamers expect the next GTA installment? Industry experts believe that Rockstar may opt to release GTA 6 sometime in 2020. Again, that's just a presumption and it can go beyond that. But as long as GTA 5 Online is doing great, the next installment is still far from the horizon.
