'Captain America 4' is already creating a buzz as to which superhero will replace Steve Rogers as Captain America in it.

Near the end of 'Captain America: Civil War,' Steve Rogers dropped his iconic shield and walked away from the Captain America mantle. Director Russo has already stated that Steve Rogers is no longer Captain America, comicbook.com reported.

"I think him dropping the shield is him letting go of that identity...[it's] him admitting that certainly the identity of Captain America was in conflict with the very personal choice he was making," said Russo.

Speculations suggest that Rogers probably regretted starting the civil war and going against Tony Stark. With Rogers dropping the mantle, it opens up a whole new, exciting realm of possibilities for the MCU and the biggest question of them all is: Who will be the next Captain America?

In the comics, both Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson pick up the shield, before making the obvious choice to head the mantle. Some rumors confer to the comics claiming Barnes and Wilson are likely to replace Rogers. They are closest to Steve Rogers after all.

However, there is also a possibility that the franchise may introduce a new character as the next Captain America. According to MovieNewsGuide, there are talks that Captain America could very well be a woman in the fourth installment.

'Captain America: The First Avengers' garnered $370 million worldwide while the sequel raked in $714.4 million. The third installment, however, topped with $1.132, smashing previous records.
