Star Wars BattelFront received a mixed reception from both critics and the gamers when it got released in November 2015. But EA was quite happy with the sales numbers.

About 14 million copies of BattleFront have been shipped till date and this number is much ahead of the publisher's expectations.

EA has already confirmed that a sequel to Star War: BattleFront was in development for 2017. In a recent earnings call, few more details were revealed by the publisher.

The company clearly stated that Star Wars: BattelFront 2 will be coming by November 2017. It was two years back that the first game was released. The publisher is working very hard to make it sure that the new version of the game is extremely deep and engaging.

BattleField 2 will be released shortly before the opening of Star Wars: Episode VIII in the theaters till December next year.

The game will have a full fledged single player mode and this game will definitely feature add-on or DLCs which would tie in with Episode VIII. This has been pointed out by GameRant.

The same strategy was adopted by EA and DICE last year with BattleFront. There was a release of multiplayer map Battle of Jakku and it had a tie in with The Force Awakens.  The feature of the single player campaign was missing in the 2015 game (Battle Front) which will ultimately be updated for BattleFront 2.

EA the publisher of the game owns the exclusive rights to the Star Wars video games license excluding the mobile devices.

The publisher of BattleFront 2 recently confirmed that it is currently working on several other Star Wars games with different developers like Respawn Entertainment.

The new version of Battle Front will defiantly entice the gamers.  EA was fully satisfied with the sales numbers of previous game. Let's see the impact of the new sequel on the sales.
