In olden days Black Friday was the name of the day when slave traders used to sell slaves at a discount to assist plantation owners.

Few others claim that there was a crash of US gold market on 24th of November and the year was 1869. This year is considered as the earliest known reference to Black Friday. However, there are various other rumored origins as well.

Now Black Friday is considered as a shopping day and the last Friday of November is termed as Black Friday every year. This day is also considered as the day after thanksgiving in the United States. This year's Black Friday falls on November the 25th.

The US retail event is almost set to become the UK's biggest ever shopping Day and as usual it may be followed by a weekend culminating into sales in Cyber Monday.

Traditionally Black Friday witnesses shops offering sales and discounts for one single day but the online stores have extended this into the weekend.

Buyers are desperate to get their hands on the best deals and the shop shelves are filled with heavily discounted goods.

On 28th of November, it shall be the Cyber Monday when the online sales will continue after high street prices are back to normal.

This is the right time for shoppers to offload their old stock. At times you may also witness some genuinely good deals on this occasion.

In the past, black Friday was an offline affair and the internet got in on the action on Cyber Monday. In 2014 shoppers started grabbling with each other on Black Friday; as a result, the police was forced to close some London stores. Hence the retailers started focusing on an online event in the year 2015.

Almost all markets offer discounts on their products on Black Friday and the maximum discount on baby and children products may be up to 50 percent. Discount on Smartphones can be 38 percent and that on televisions and laptops may be 31 percent.   These discounts have been revealed by a data from Hot UK deals.
