Apple Watch Specs, Price & Features: Tim Cook Sells 'Holy Grail' Of Health Buffs

Apple has been largely known for the iPhone or the MacBook, leaving the Apple Watch in the background. And while many may see it that way, CEO Tim Cook begs to differ.

In fact he considers the Apple wearable as the potential holy grail that people may eventually find handy once the health and wearable market cements properly establishes its niche in the market.

In the eyes of many, Apple is all about revenue and this is the reason why more focus is placed on its other product offerings like the iPhone, iPad or MacBooks. But with an evolving industry, Cook sees an eventual evolution where the Apple Watch will come in.

He expects the health monitoring market to blossom at some point and one thing that will come in handy is a device that is pretty familiar with the human body. Everyone knows that most wearable tech these days are tied up to sync with the human body and Cook sees the Apple Watch pretty much fitting the bill.

“The holy grail of the watch is being able to monitor more and more of what’s going on in your body,” said Cook via Bloomberg. “If you could have a device that knew so much about you, it would be incredible, and would extend life and extend quality. I’m not saying one device will do all of that."

While Cook’s take seems to be promising many are wondering how the Apple Watch can take on all of these. Right now, the next Apple Watch features only show a bigger battery (meaning longer usable life), FaceTime capability and improved LTE connection possibilities.

With those in mind, Cook may be referring to an Apple Watch of the future and not the one immediately coming. And if that is the case, folks may end up relying on apps to do the trick – something that can be practically used with other wearables available in the market.

Also, Cook will have to add something unique for the Apple Watch to stand out. It is not merely a wearable that will rely on apps but a more consistent and reliable add-on that will can pinpoint health-related issues hooked on (somehow) to the human body.

The data rendered can be eventually collected and something that physicians can eventually use in the proper assessment of what truly ails an individual and how to remedy it.
