Legends Of Tomorrow Season 2 Spoilers, Cast & Premiere Date

By Brian McNeill | Update Date: May 21, 2016 06:36 AM EDT

“DC’s Legend of Tomorrow” has officially come to a close and the next season will see key changes to replace the members who left the team in the first season.

In the final episode, “Vandal Savage” (Casper Crump) was finally taken down and two members on “Rip Hunter’s” (Arthur Darvill) team bid adieu. The two figures where “Hawkman” (Falk Hentschel) and “Hawkgirl” (Ciara Renee).

There will actually be three characters gone from Hunter’s original team. The other one was “Leonard Snart/ Captain Cold” (Wentworth Miller) who sacrificed himself in episode 15 when he sacrificed himself to destroy the “Oculus”.

It is likely that these three characters could make some appearances in season 2 though all that remains to be seen. As for the team, there could be new heroes joining the crusade and that has yet to be known.

In the season finale, the sudden appearance of another “Waveride” did introduce a new hero in “Rex Tyler” (Patrick J. Adams). Based on the comics, Tyler is actually “Hourman” and is someone tied up to the “Justice Society of America” (JSA).

On that note it seems that at least for the first episode of two, “Hourman” will be around though his unusual entrance using the “Waverider” hints at him possibly being one of the new members for next season.

Seeing that there are three slots, will executive producer Marc Guggenheim fill up the two other vacancies? With Tyler’s appearance, some are playing with the idea that other members of the Justice Society of America will be coming on board.

A quick rundown from the comic version sees a couple of other characters in the mix. That includes “Doctor Fate”, “the Spectre”, “the Sandman”, “the Atom”, “the Flash”, “Green Lantern” and “Hawkman”.

Going through that mix, it may be safe to speculate that it will not be among the members already in tow. “Atom” and “Hawkman” are unlikely to be possible additions seeing there are already cast members who are playing (or have played) the role.

“Green Lantern” could be a possibility and in fact was the character tied up to rumors as appearing in the season finale. “Doctor Fate”, “Spectre” or “Sandman” could be possible but one has to figure out how they fit into the team if ever the new members will be taken from the JSA.

Of course it is also possible that the new members could be someone not from the group. Also consider the fact that with “Snart’s” death, a villain could be added as well. According to Guggenheim, plans for season 2 is to have a rotating cast of heroes not only in terms of the composition of the team but also in terms of mission statements.

The last scenario could see no additions at all to the team though that depends on the new plot in store for season 2 of “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow”.
