Red Hot Chilli Peppers New Album Update: Frontman Anthony Kiedis Admitted To Hospital With ‘Intestinal Flu’

While, Red Hot Chili Peppers are currently busy working on the release of their new album titled "The Getaway," frontman Anthony Kiedis was admitted to hospital with the intestinal flu over the weekend. The band had to cancel their headlining Saturday performance at KROQ Weenie Roast at the last minute after Kiedis complained of intense stomach pain at the Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre.

"No one's more disappointed than us that we couldn't perform tonight," Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith tweeted on Saturday night, according to Blabber Mouth. "Sending love and a speedy recovery to my brother Anthony."

In fact, the Californian rock band has announced in an official statement that they have decided to postpone an upcoming concert at the iHeartRadio Theater in Burbank, California scheduled for May 17 owing to the 53-year-old singer's health issues.

"Due to Anthony Kiedis' hospitalization from complications from the intestinal flu on  Saturday evening, the Red Hot Chili Peppers regretfully must postpone their upcoming concert for iHeart Radio on May 17th.They would like to extend their gratitude to the fans for the outpouring of well wishes.  Anthony is expected to make a full recovery soon," the statement read, according to NME.

Red Hot Chili Peppers recently announced details of their new album "The Getaway" and shared its first single 'Dark Necessities'. The upcoming studio album "The Getaway," which is scheduled to get released on June 17, will be the band's 11th album and first since 2011's "I'm With You."

The album has been produced by Danger Mouse and mixed by Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich. The track list of Red Hot Chili Peppers new album includes "The Getaway," "Dark Necessities," "We Turn Red," "The Longest Wave," "Goodbye Angels," "Sick Love," "Go Robot," "Feasting on the Flowers," "Detroit," "This Ticonderoga," "Encore," "The Hunter" and "Dreams of a Samurai."

Red Hot Chili Peppers consists of vocalist Kiedis, bassist Flea, guitarist Josh Klinghoffer and drummer Chad Smith. The band has scheduled a world tour to promote the release of their upcoming new album.
