HTC 10 Release Date, Price & Review: Gadget To Compete Against iPhone, Galaxy Smartphones?

HTC recently released its long awaited flagship smartphone HTC 10 which is soon making its way into the hands of buyers In fact, according to HTC's US Twitter account, the company has already begun shipping pre-orders for its newest flagship in the United States, according to GSM Arena.

The HTC 10, which is priced at $699, comes packed with top-end features and is targeted to compete with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S7, iPhone 6s, LG G5 and more.

The HTC handset features a premium metal unibody design with diamond cut chamfered edges. The handset boasts a 5.2-inch Quad HD screen with a display resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels and 564 ppi.

It is to be noted that the HTC 10 will be available in two models with different Qualcomm Snapdragon processors. The handset's US variant will come packed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor clocked at 2.2 GHz paired with 4GB of RAM and and 32 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded with a microSD card to up to 2TB.

There's a 12-megapixel rear-camera of aperture f/1.8 with optical image stabilization and laser auto-focus and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera of aperture f/1.8 and optical image stabilization. The handset maker claims that the HTC 10 has one of the best smartphone cameras currently available in the market.

"With the world's first optically stabilized, larger aperture ƒ/1.8 lenses on both the front and rear cameras, new larger sensors, 12 million of our new generation UltraPixels (1.55 µm per pixel), faster laser autofocus powering the main camera and a wide angle lens and screen flash on the front UltraSelfie camera, this smartphone delivers brilliantly sharp, low light and high-resolution photos whether behind or in front of the lens," claims HTC, according to Tech Times.

The HTC 10 runs on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system wrapped under HTC Sense UI. The HTC smartphone packs a 3,000 mAh battery that the maker claims offers up to 27 hours of talk-time on 3G/4G and up to 19 days of standby time.
