If you keep a lot of tabs open on your Google Chrome window, then you may have noticed your laptop's battery draining much faster. Running too many pages at once can take a toll on your laptop's battery, especially the ones that are memory intensive. While closing them and coming back to it later may seem like an added effort, you will be saving a lot of harm to your laptop's battery life, reports Economic Times

The best option here is to kill the tabs rather than completely closing them, this will reduce the strain on your laptop. Just select "setting" from your Chrome window, hover down to more tools and then click 'task manager' in the new menu that opens up. As you can see the list of tabs that your browser is running, it also displays the memory it is using up. Sort the tabs by clicking the Memory button so that you can see the ones that are consuming the most.

You can kill some of the tabs from here and free up the memory by clicking on "End Process" after clicking on the tab. This will end the page and display 'Aw, Snap!' error on the page. This will not take as much memory and the page can be refreshed if you want to go back to it again.

By simply closing the troublesome tabs on your Chrome window, you can save your laptop's battery significantly. While this may not be a practical solution but it works best when you need to work with the open tab but also need the battery life. It works like charm in saving your laptop's battery life, says Times of India
