Hobbyists and semi-pros can look forward to the latest offering of Canon, EOS 80D that is succeeding the 70D model. This camera works best for part-time photographers and is equipped with a 45-point autofocus system, powered with 24.4-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, 100% coverage optical viewfinder. The videographers too can exploit the improved Dual Pixel CMOS Autofocus system complete with a headphone jack and a headphone, says CNET

Apart from these features, 80D also has a new Digic 6 processor. The ISO range has been increased from 12,800 to 16,000. The video resolution is a full HD 1080 at 60p with a continuous shooting speed at 7 frames per second. Canon says that their new 80D camera is focus and captures moving objects more precisely, Stark Insider reports

Technically, it can be called as a mid-range camera, a cross between a cheap DSLR and step short of pro models such as the 5D range. 80D can be easily called an extremely capable camera along with its predecessor, 70D. Images and the videos can be very impressive, more so for someone who is into videography more than the still photography. This camera works like a charm.

The design of this camera, 80D, is identical to 70D, including the touchscreen LCD. While 70D's Wi-Fi was clumsy, Canon improved it in 80D which also supports NFC.

Canon is preparing to launch and ship this camera by March for the price point of $1,200 for its body and $1,800 for the kit that comes with a EF-S 18-135mm f3.5-5.6 USM lens. According to Canon, Nano USM "combines the benefits of a ring USM for high-speed AF during still photo shooting and lead-screw type STM (stepping motor) for smooth and quiet movie AF, and improved AF speeds up to 4.3x (tele) and 2.5x (wide) faster than the previous model. It also provides up to four stops of optical image stabilization," as reported by Digital Trends
