Good news for all the Microsoft Surface owners, the most awaited and needed update is finally on its way.

On Wednesday, Redmond released a set of firmware and driver updates for Surface Book and Surface Book Pro 4. This update will "help you get the most of the power management options that Surface is designed to offer and continue to make your Surface more productive," Panos Panay, head of Microsoft's Surface division, wrote in a blog post.

A total of 13 updates will cover all the aspects from audio drivers to intel graphics and Surface Management Engine. As a result, you will not only get a device which is far more productive but will also improve the system's overall stability. This means that there will less technical glitches that can hinder its otherwise flawless performance, as states by Microsoft's release notes. The users can also expect to see improved battery life, better display quality and reliable auto-rotation as well.

On Surface, the updates are installed automatically along with Window updates. However, since the big update by Microsoft is being released in stages, not all the users will receive their update the same time as other users. If you do not wish to wait longer, you can also change the settings and install them manually. Just go to the start menu, select settings and scroll to Update & Security. Click Windows Update and then Check for Updates. In case of an available update, they will installed on your device immediately, as reported by PC Mag

"We are committed to continuing to improve Surface - to keep pushing out updates to make your device more awesome," Panay wrote. "And to continue to help all our customers realize the full benefits of the latest silicon and Windows 10. With that in mind, one of the most important steps you can take is to ensure your Surface is up-to-date with the fixes we post on Windows Update."
