In his recent post on social media, Mark Zuckerberg said that his challenge for the year would be build a "simple AI" that will be similar to Jarvis in Iron Man. He said will reveal his progress as the year progresses. On Monday, Zuckerberg said he start building the AI with the prevalent technology and teach it how to recognize and understand his voice while controlling everything in his home, from his music to home temperature and lights, said Quartz.

"This should be a fun intellectual challenge to code this for myself," Mr. Zuckerberg said. "I'll teach it to let friends in by looking at their faces when they ring the doorbell," he said. "I'll teach it to let me know if anything is going on in Max's (his daughter's) room that I need to check on when I'm not with her. It is now a long time ago, but I've been trying to remember my two periods of paternity leave. I dimly recall clumsily changing nappies, making endless cups of tea for visitors, and a mixture of immense joy and total weariness. What I'm sure I did not do is come up with a plan for a personal robot assistant," as reported by BBC News

For Facebook, Zuckerberg said that this new AI would help him visualize data in virtual reality that will help him build better services and also effectively lead his company. This announcement came after Facebook revealed about their plans to launch AI initiatives such as developing an assistant through its Messenger app for the users. Mark said that the in some part, the motivation for this year's challenge was that feeling of reward when you build things yourself, reported Daily Mail.
