New Photo Update by Google Adds New Feature of Shared Albums

Latest update in #GooglePhotos has been introduced with an added feature that is called shared albums. As per this feature, the user will be able to create albums that are accessible by the others with an additional ability to add videos and photos. This feature has been in the pipeline for quite sometime as the Photos only allowed images to be shared individually or through the albums. The new photos update makes this feature available to the users and will be reflecting in not just Android but iOS and the web version too. It is a simple process to share the album with a tap of few buttons. Just select a bunch of photos, add them in an album and then click "new shared album" to share it with your loved ones, reports The Droid Guy

Google was done with Apple's praise with its seamless photo sharing feature. This latest will give iOS cloud photo sharing a tough competition. Since it is also available for other platforms such as Android and web apart from iOS, this cross-cultural platform support gives a big edge to Google as Apple is only exclusively available to OS X and iOS. This will affect your photo sharing if you want to share your photos with all your friends and family and not just the ones who use Macs and iPhones. The shared albums introduced by Photos App has started with a roar. However, they are designed only to share a one-time event and not an entire collection, says The Verge.

David Lieb, Google's product lead for Google Photos said that photo sharing this way is an opposite of the photos that are being shared on social media - the happy, upbeat, party photos that appear aspirational. "One to one communication has gotten lost," he says. "But as soon as Grandma gets on it, it changes from aspirational," Says USA Today.
