Japanese phone maker Kyocera is advertising a phone that can safely be taken to the loo.

The phone, Digno Rafre, claims to be the world's first that can soap-washed. A commercial for the phone shows a mother applying generous amounts of hand soap on the device and scrubbing it to turn it new. The Verge reports the phone's touch panel functions even if it's wet and the device has a scratch-healing feature that can minimize appearance of scratches. To prevent damage to the audio system from water Kyocera has incorporated bone-conduction to transmit sound to the ear.

According to PC World, the phone is expected to release on December 11 through cellular carrier KDDI and could be a hit among those wanting to keep their belongings clean. Phones are among the dirtiest equipment carried around, given the environments they are exposed to.

Rafre will feature a 5-inch display wit 720p resolution and a 3,000 mAh battery while running Android 5.1. The device is a not-so-thin 10.1 mm thick. It will retail at around $ 465 at launch. Kyocera is also throwing in a yellow rubber duck stand to prop the device up in the bath!
