Avoiding Breakfast? Think Again! Researchers have Discovered A Link Between Academic Performance and Healthy Breakfast

Getting up in the morning and rushing straight to school with the possibility of skipping breakfast? Well then you should probably acquaint yourself with the science of breakfast as researchers have once again reassured the optimistic impacts of an early morning food gourmet on academics.

Still dwelling among researches which says skipping breakfast can make you fat, lethargic and off kilter? Well then it's time to brace yourself as recent research has maintained a link between healthy breakfast and exceptional grades.

Led by Hannah Littlecott from Cardiff University's Center for the Development and Evaluation of Complex Interventions for Public Health Improvement (DECIPher) analyzed average school performances based on various determinants. Keeping in view 100 elementary schools, 5000 young children of age 9 to 11 were the center of study and were examined for a period of 6 to 18 months. The whole target was to gain ample data regarding quality breakfast and the fallouts on respective academics for each student.

As part of public health and academia, the results established that those individuals who had a habit of consuming breakfast were more prone towards attaining an above average score. Miscellaneous items such as drinks and chips had no significant impact as pupils were asked to record all sorts of food and drink items they have consumed in 24 hours.

Breakfast composition was taken into account as researchers claimed that items with lower glycemic index make students more vigilant and dynamic for the day as the presence of glycemic releases energy which is directly linked with cognitive functioning in schools and in other academic aspects.

As per Medical News Prof. Chris Bonell from the UK's University College London Institute of Education, maintains that "schools should be focusing on the health and education of their pupils as complementary rather than competing priorities".

Parents should initiate an interventionist role as it is necessary to leave home after a healthy and scrumptious breakfast. Making you all fit for the day, the presence of food items within your body makes you spirited and robust, mentally as well as physically increasing your academic performance.
