Dentists, dental surgeons, and dental assistants, flight attendants, anaesthesiologists, nurse anaesthetists, and anaesthesiologist assistants, veterinarians, veterinary assistants, and technicians, podiatrists, features in the top 5 classified slots of the most health-hazardous jobs based on a set of risk factors, reports Sydney Morning Herald.

The list of risk factors include exposure to contaminants; exposure to disease and infection; exposure to hazardous conditions; exposure to radiation; risk of minor burns, cuts, bites, and stings; and time spent sitting, reports Business Insider UK. A data analysis of 974 occupations were carried out by examining relevant data from the Occupational Information Network, a comprehensive database of the US Department of Labor.

On a scale of 0 to 100, O*NET scores these 6 health risks for each of the occupations. Higher the score is, higher the health risk. 974 occupations were analyzed on this scoring scale. Business Insider UK using these O*NET measures ranked the top 27 professions that pose the most health risks to people.

According to Business Insider UK, the remaining 22 spots in descending order of risk, with the higher risk ones preceding the lower risk ones are as follows: Immigration and customs inspectors, Histotechnologists and histologic technicians, Water and wastewater treatment plant and system operators, Stationary engineers and boiler operators, Surgical and medical assistants, technologists, and technicians, Derrick operators (oil and gas), Airline pilots, copilots, and flight engineers, Medical equipment preparers, Nuclear equipment operation technicians, Refuse and recyclable material collectors, Refractory materials repairers (except brickmasons), Continuous mining-machine operators, Emergency medical technicians and paramedics, Chemical plant and system operators, Service unit operators (oil, gas, and mining), Critical care nurses, Refrigeration mechanics and installers, Nuclear medicine technologists, Elevator installers and repairers, Embalmers, Metal-refining furnace operators and tenders, and Radiologists.
