"Fantastic Beasts 2," the sequel to "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" won't be arriving until next year, but already, Colin Farrell knows he won't be returning to the franchise.

While this may disappoint some fans, he has a theory about his character, Percival Graves' fate after the first film. He recently opened up about possibly returning to the franchise, but he said of the first film, "that was it."

The Last Of Colin Farrell On "Fantastic Beasts"

According to Screenrant, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" star, Colin Farrell opened up about the possibility of him returning to the franchise, but he said, "It was always written that that was it." He even shared that Graves might be stuck in a "shallow grave" somewhere, where he would ultimately die. Unless J.K. Rowling comes up with a fantastic way to bring back Percival Graves (this is the world of Hogwarts and Harry Potter, after all), it's presumed that Colin Farrell won't be in "Fantastic Beasts 2."

Johnny Depp In "Fantastic Beasts 2"

Back in Nov., Deadline reported that "Pirates of the Caribbean" star, Johnny Depp joined "Fantastic Beasts 2" in a yet-undisclosed role. Meanwhile, "Fantastic Beasts 2" is set to film this fall.

As per Digital Spy, production will film in the UK, Paris, and France. The upcoming film will be the second in a series of five, in which a young Dumbledore will be introduced.

As for Colin Farrell, who recently opened up about returning to the franchise, he won't be appearing in the film unless J.K. Rowling pens a follow up to his character's story.

"Fantastic Beasts 2" will bring together Eddie Redmayne, Johnny Depp, Katharine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, and Zoe Kravitz. The movie will open on Nov. 16, 2018.
