Selena Gomez Opens Up Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mental Breakdown [VIDEO]

Selena Gomez recently opened up about how dialectical behavior therapy helped her cope up with mental breakdown in an interview with US magazine, Vogue. "The Hands to Myself" singer is one those celebrities who have gone through the said breakdown, often caused by living their lives in the limelight.

Singer-actress Selena Gomez recently opened up about her struggle with anxiety and depression. Gomez took a break from the spotlight, saying she wants to focus on her overall health. Aside from struggling with her mental health condition, the singer was also diagnosed with lupus, which is an autoimmune disorder causing her to cancel the majority of her concerts.

Selena Gomez is the most followed person on Instagram to date, which means that she's being watched by millions worldwide. Though she admitted that being on top of the social media site was exciting, it did, however, negatively impacted her life, especially her mental health. SelGo is only one of famous celebrities who is prone to undergo mental breakdown.

"Look, I love what I do, and I'm aware of how lucky I am, but - how can I say this without sounding weird? I just really can't wait for people to forget about me," Selena Gomez said during her interview with US Vogue.

Selena also said about wanting people to forget her, stating that she wants to live a normal life. The singer sought help in terms of having her psychological concerns tackled, thus she went through a Dialectical Behavior Therapy or BBT.

Selena Gomez shared her struggles with depression, anxiety, and lupus. She then added how her therapy, changed her life. Dialectical Behavior Therapy is a technique developed for Borderline Personality Disorder. It was explained that the therapy helped her cope with her emotions and overall health, according to Refinery21.

"DBT has completely changed my life," Selena Gomez added. "You have no idea how incredible it felt to just be with six girls; real people who couldn't care about who I was, who were fighting for their lives. It was one of the hardest things I've done, but it was the best thing I've done."

There are countless celebrities who are prone to undergo mental breakdown because of fame. Thousands of followers often want to know their whereabouts. Britney Spears, Demi Lovato, Lady Gaga, and Cara Delavigne also opened up about mental health problems, Marie Claire cited.
