There's roughly a couple of months more before the highly anticipated "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" film hits the big screen. With this, Marvel is going all out on marketing the upcoming flick, which is assumed to be another hit for the studio.

Recently, a new TV spot released by Marvel shows the Guardians and how the squad has grown. But more than just adding new characters to the fold, director James Gunn promises that the movie will feature the "biggest visual effects" seen in theaters in quite a while.

Peter Quill's Father, Ego

As per IGN, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" director James Gunn recently opened up about Ego, Peter Quill's father played by Kurt Russell. He explained that a lot of work went into creating the character on screen, as the visual effects team used "over a trillion polygons" to make Ego come alive. Gunn admitted, "It's the biggest visual effect of all time."

Who Is "Star-Munch"?

As per Screenrant, the new TV spot released for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" showcases a roll call of the main Guardians, Drax, Baby Groot, Gamora, Rocket, and Star-Lord. The TV spot released by Marvel also showcases Rocket's new favorite nickname for Peter Quill, which is "Star-Munch," may allude to his love for eating or may be a watered down version of what Rocket really wanted to say. The film is known to contain language that isn't appropriate for the younger crowd.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is slated to make it to the big screen this May 5. The film brings back Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel, alongside Karen Gillan and Michael Rooker as the new band of Guardians.
