While many are still stretching their patience for the long-awaited "Kingdom Hearts 3" to be released, Square Enix has created "Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue" instead. This installment has a collection of three games that will lead fans to "KH 3."

Although it was already known that "Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue" and "Kingdom Hearts 3" will have a connection, for 2.8 to finally give players a taste of "KH 3" makes the game even more worth the hype. "Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue" consists of three titles just like "Kingdom Hearts 1.5" and "Kingdom Hearts 2.5" before.

While "Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance" HD remake and "Kingdom Hearts X" are amazing, Kotaku suggested that the best reason for picking up "Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue" is its teaser for the much-awaited "Kingdom Hearts 3." The site noted that "Kingdom Hearts 0.2: Birth By Sleep - A Fragmentary Passage" is a part of the "Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue" and this is where the fans were treated for a taste of "KH 3."

"Kingdom Hearts 0.2: Birth By Sleep - A Fragmentary Passage" begins where "Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Remix: Birth By Sleep" left off, where Aqua will be seen standing outside and staring straight at Cinderella's castle in the Dark World. Aqua then continued her journey and then the waiting game for "Kingdom Hearts 3" also continues. Although it seems like the players are receiving "Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue" well, that wasn't the case when the game was first introduced.

Many believed that Square Enix is stalling way too much for "Kingdom Hearts 3" and fans believe that "Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue" is unnecessary. With lack of update and announcement, it has been previously reported that "Kingdom Hearts 3" struggles to reach Top 5 despite the popularity of the franchise. There is still no word on the "Kingdom Hearts 3" release date yet.
