"Rainbow Six Siege" fans should clear out their schedules and stay home towards the end of the week, as Ubisoft is launching free weekend beginning February 2. Gamers who are still on the fence about purchasing the 2015 first-person tactical shooter video will be able to sample it this weekend, beginning Thursday up until Sunday.

According to Polygon, Ubisoft is launching free weekend beginning February 2 to let gamers in on the different maps, modes, and Operators found in "Rainbow Six Siege." Interested gamers should note, however, that they will need either a PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold subscription to take part in the free weekend event, which is a lead in for the highly anticipated release of "Velvet Shell" DLC on February 7.

According to VG247, there hasn't been any additional information about the "Rainbow Six Siege" free weekend beginning February 2. Ubisoft will most likely share details about the upcoming event tomorrow. Just like other free play events, gamers can be assured that their progress during free play will be carried over to the actual game if they decide to purchase it.

For those who are yet unaware, "Rainbow Six Siege" also comes with several packages. The Gold Edition features all Season 1 content, while the base game can be purchased via Steam, Uplay, etc. For those who are interested in the Year 2 Gold Edition, know that it features a Season 2 pass. For those who want all content all at once, get the Complete Edition that features both Season 1 and 2 DLC.
