The struggle is set to continue for Lagertha as King Harald and Halfdan the Black plan to take Kattegat in "Vikings" Season 4 Episode 19. However, Lagertha isn't the only one who has things to worry about in "On The Eve". Athelwulf will need to face the fury of Ivar the Boneless and the Great Heathen Army as they march up to Wessex.

The previous episode of "Vikings" Season 4 was aptly named "Revenge" since it concluded with Ivar the Boneless and his fellow Northerners defeating King Aelle's small army. "Vikings" Season 4 Episode 18 saw the King of Northumbria being subjected to a painful method execution that was last seen used on Jarl Borg in the second season. However, unlike the proud Jarl, Aelle's pain was evident as the blood eagle was hacked away on his back. The scene certainly suggests that "Vikings" Season 4 Episode 19 will only get bloodier.

The synopsis for "On The Eve" confirms that King Ecbert and his son Aethelwulf need to find a way to defeat Ivar the Boneless and his Viking army. There are speculations that the battle will spill over to Wessex even though Ragnar Lothbrok had promised Ecbert's safety. Unfortunately, there is no mention of the trouble in Kattegat but the preview for "Vikings" Season 4 Episode 19 certainly shows Lagertha in action.

The preview for "On The Eve" shows Lagertha in the middle of a battle as Kattegat comes under attack. She spots Egil leading his men on to the Great Hall then realizes that she has made a mistake leaving her post. In England, people panic as the Viking army approaches. Aethelwulf prepares for a war as King Ecbert urges him that "this is the time for hate."

Can Lagertha prevent King Harald from taking over Kattegat in "On The Eve"? Will Ivar the Boneless lay waste to Wessex? "Vikings" Season 4 Episode 19 airs on History on January 25.
