Fans shouldn't give up hope on the planned "Veronica Mars" revival just yet. Creator Rob Thomas has just admitted that he and Kristin Bell has every intention to push through with the show's return. However, Thomas isn't quite sure when the revival will happen now that he needs to focus on The CW's series based on the horror classic "The Lost Boys".

The "Veronica Mars" revival was confirmed by Kristin Bell last year, stating that she and creator Rob Thomas are planning to work on a mini-series that could be the show's fourth season. Since then, there have been no updates on the highly anticipated revival, which is set to feature six new hour-long episodes. Luckily, Thomas has just announced that the new "Veronica Mars" series will happen.

According to TVLine, Rob Thomas addressed the possibility of the "Veronica Mars" revival during the Television Critics Association winter press tour. The "iZombie" showrunner stated that he has already spoken to Kristen Bell about the mini-series and "it will happen." However, Thomas also added that he isn't certain "when it will be." Rob Thomas' uncertainly comes largely from his commitment to the highly anticipated "Lost Boys" series, which will air on The CW.

The "iZombie" showrunner somehow admitted that if he wasn't signed on for the new series, he and Kristen Bell would undoubtedly work on the "Veronica Mars" revival right away. However, Bell has also been cast in the NBC show "The Good Place", which could mean she will be busy on her new project for a while.

It might still be a long wait for the "Veronica Mars" revival air date, but Rob Thomas and Kristen Bell can rest assured that the fans are very supportive of their future reunion. In the meantime, Bell's show "The Good Place" is expected to be renewed for a second season later this year. Thomas continues to campaign for "iZombie" Season 3 and will begin work on "Lost Boys" before the end of 2017.
