iPad Pro 2 Latest News & Update: Three Tablets Shaking Up Tablet Market By Second Half Of 2017

With Apple taking it easy last year with the release of iPads, 2017 promises to be different. In fact, three new Apple tablets are expected, led by the iPad Pro 2. A lot of this will depend if the Cupertino company follows alleged schedules, mass production of which is believed to be underway. If so, the new tablets in the mix are believed to be coming out in the second half of 2017 at the latest.

Three new iPad Pro 2 variants are expected in 2017, according to a report by DigiTimes. The three will differ in sizes: a 9.7-, a 10.5- and a 12.9-inch display model. The 9.7-inch iPad Pro 2 will be the budget device of the mix, a new installment of the same variant which was released in 2016. The 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2 variant is expected to cater to business and commercial classes, one that picks up from the version released back in 2015.

With three new iPad Pro 2 variants looming, current Apple tablets could be affected. The 10.5-inch iPad Pro 2 variant is reportedly equipped with an A10X chip and seen as something that would pick off from the current 9.7-inch model. This means that the upcoming 9.7-inch model may carry lower specs since it is aimed at entry-level consumers, Slash Gear reported.

Other specs have yet to be known. In a previous post, it was mentioned that the iPad Pro 2 could tote a new foldable feature thanks to some spotted patents. Analyst Gene Muster has been keeping a close watch on the patents filed by Apple, something that could make sense due to the fast-evolving technology in the world of tablets.

Other speculated features for the iPad Pro 2 include a bezel-free design, one armed with Touch ID and a front-facing Facetime camera. The iPad Pro 2 could debut as early as March 2017 though Apple has yet to confirm any new tablet arrival.
