iPhone 5 Disappoints Over Lackluster Map Feature, Device Still Breaking Records

Amid the excitement over the newly released iPhone 5  upset over inaccurate maps and faulty wallet aps make its reception more tepid than expected,

However, that has not stopped Apple from breaking more records. Reuters reports that Apple has booked more than 2 million orders for the device in the first 24 hours, double the first-day sales of the previous iPhone 4S.

The new phone, which is reported to have a larger, 4-inch screen, is slimmer and far lighter than the previous model as well as supports faster 4G mobile networks, has a new in-house maps feature, which was touted to be more accurate and with faster locale updates, has proven to be a disappointment for some.

Reuters reports, "Some users criticized the maps feature for a number of geographical errors, missing information and a lack of features. However despite these drawbacks, the international fever over the new Apple device is no less impressive.

But Apple Spokesman in a statement that can only be described as 'marketing genius' reassures buyer that the map feature is being continuously improved " and as Maps is a cloud-based solution, the more people use it [i.e. the more iPhone's are bought] the better it will get."

The new phone went on sale across, Europe, Asia and Australia with mobile carriers reporting record demand that looked likely to stretch Apple's supply capacity.

London's Regent's Street is seeing nearly double the amount of people line up to get their hands on the Apple's newest edition and in Germany people have been lining up since early afternoon Thursday just to be the first of their peers to own it.

Reuters quotes 19-year-old German musician Okan Yasin, "I just need to have it. I know that the new iPhone from a new features perspective hardly has anything extra to offer. But I just needed to be here. It's the hype, man!"

Buyers in Australia and France who are also among the first countries to see the phone, are seeing never before experienced sanctions on how many number of phone they can buy... just two.

But the queue in Tokyo can not compare to any other country, spanning several blocks and closing down streets all together.

Apple stores opened their doors at 8 Am this morning today to begin their sale and now the wait is over.
