Advance Ticket Sales Too Much For Fandango

Meanwhile, advance ticket sales for Rogue One started shortly after midnight EST on Monday. It looked like fans didn't go to sleep at all and instead were waiting patiently to 'attack' the site. Soon as they were available, online ticket buyers rushed in per CBS News.

Shortly after the site started selling tickets online, the customers reportedly had to deal with time-outs, long waiting times and failures in accessing Fandango. However, those purchasing tickets via Fandango's mobile app had no problem at all.

The site came up with a remedy by creating a "digital wait room". This served as an online queue for managing traffic. But Fansided reported that even that turned out to be problematic. This only proves that Star Wars' first standalone film is a blockbuster success judging from the public reception it got long before it's released.
