Angelina Jolie has finally made her first appearance since she filed for divorce with Brad Pitt back in September. She recorded a video for the International Criminal Court regarding a new policy about children on Friday. In the video, Jolie emphasizes the cruel crimes plaguing children today. She said that the impact of crimes against children reverberates generations later. She said we know we're not giving the best to our kids.

She continued that mankind owes to children and that we know we're not giving our best to them. It's not possible to give complete justice if we do not give consideration to the victims of war crimes themselves. They need practical assistance in order to move on with their lives as well as overcome the sufferings they have experienced. This is the reason why the work of the trust fund is crucial. It has to be supported and strengthened by everyone.

She added that successful prosecution is needed as well as a new legal benchmark. Regardless if it's at the ICC or elsewhere. The point is that it is a part of a long and vital effort of our generation. She believes it is the light in which the court's new policy on children ought to be seen. Jolie serves as Special Envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
