Good news awaits "Game of Thrones" fans. Finally, according to reports, George R. R. Martin has finished "Winds of Winter".

Although it was reported previously that Martin will be releasing his book in 2018 due to his hectic schedule, yet new reports claim that the book might be released in 2017, as it is already in the proofreading stage, reported  Mobile & Apps.

However, this has not yet been confirmed, and some fans speculate that Martin is still writing the book. Notably, Martin has previously apologized to the fans for not keeping up with schedule. He had also mentioned that he is not very good with deadlines, and his age is what is hampering his writing ability.

"The Winds of Winter' is not finished," he said. "You can blame my age, and maybe that had an impact too...but if truth be told, sometimes the writing goes well and sometimes it doesn't, and that was true for me even when I was in my 20s."

Considering the present circumstances, it seems that fans of "Winds of Winter" and "Game of Thrones" would need to wait for an official confirmation from Martin.

Martin, however, is yet to officially announce the release date of "The Winds of Winter" and has yet to give official statement on the recent rumors and speculations.
