‘Pokémon Go’ Eevee Evolutions Update: Eevee Evolves Into Two New Pokemon In Generation II

"Pokémon Go" players will know that Eevee can evolve into three new forms presently. However, two more forms will be added in Generation 2 Pokémon in the augmented reality (AR) mobile game.

Notably, Eevee is a normal Pokémon, who can borrow its appearance and traits from a fox. Presently it can evolve into Flareon, Jolteon or Vaporeon. This transformation can be controlled at times, but it might also be random.

With the update of the AR app, two new Pokémon types, namely Umbreon and Espeon will also join the group.

According to SlashGear, players can get an Espeon or Umbreon depending on what time of the day the Eevee is evolved. Generally, Eevee turns into Espeon if the evolution is during the day. It turns into Umbreon when the evolution happens in the evening or at night.

Presently, it is not yet known how "Pokémon Go" will include these Pokémon. However, it is speculated that players can control the evolution by calling it certain names.

The nicknames are Rainer for Vaporeon, Sparky for Jolteon and Pyro for Flareon. The nicknames have been added in the memory of the Eevee brothers, the four trainers who appeared in The Battling Eevee Brothers of the Pokémon anime, reported Twinfinite.

Niantic head John Hanke confirmed this to be true, so naming an Eevee any of the three mentioned above is sure to give the corresponding evolution 100 percent of the time.

Additionally, Niantic is also trying to track the time of the day the Pokémon is evolving, to make sure it evolves in the correct type. The mobile app can currently determine if it is nighttime or daytime so it can create Pokémon according to that. However, the AR app does not have the same facility as of now.

As of now, there has been no confirmation on the Generation 2 Pokémon, so players will have to stay tuned for the news to get updates.
